Walk-in tattoo in Vienna: how to prepare for your visit

At INTO Tattoo Studio, Lenaugasse 8, 1080 Vienna, you can come in without an appointment.
A walk-in works if: your schedule is flexible and your idea is fairly simple.
Arrange an appointment first if: you want a specific artist, you're short on time or you're planning a complex design.
The seven questions below will help you plan. For the key facts about the service, see our walk-in tattoo in Vienna page.
1. Can I just walk in, or should I message you first?

You can come in without an appointment during our opening hours. INTO Tattoo Studio is open Monday to Saturday, 11:00 to 18:00. If you only have a short window, or you're travelling to Vienna just for this, ask about current availability before you come.
A message on helps us assess your idea. Send us the idea or a reference, the placement and the rough size. Comparing it with a coin, your palm or a typical smartphone is enough. Add when you'd like to come in and how much time you have.
If you need a firm answer before you set off, wait until we reply.
2. Which tattoos work well as a walk-in?

Small, simple designs are often easier to prepare at short notice: a symbol, a short piece of lettering or a simple outline. A small fine line tattoo can work too. What matters is how much design and detail work your particular idea needs.
Two coin-sized designs can take very different amounts of work. A cleanly drawn heart needs different preparation from a flower with lots of separate petals and shading.
| Your idea | What we check at the studio |
|---|---|
| Small symbol or short lettering | Will the drawing, placement and amount of work fit into the time available? |
| Small design with lots of detail | Does it need more space, a simpler design or extra preparation? |
| Larger composition or cover-up | How much design work and scheduling does the project need? |
You don't need a finished design. An idea or a reference image is enough for the first conversation. For complex projects, a booked appointment makes more sense.

3. How does a walk-in visit work?
- Talk through your idea: We look at your design, the placement and the size you have in mind.
- Check what's possible: Which artist suits the idea, and is there enough free time for your project?
- Agree on design and price: If your tattoo can be done today, we agree on the design, placement and price before we start tattooing. You can ask questions and talk through changes.
Allow time for the conversation and the preparation as well.
If the idea needs more preparation, or there's no suitable time slot free, we'll plan the next steps with you. You don't have to make your design smaller or simpler just so it can happen today.
4. How much does a walk-in tattoo cost in Vienna?
At INTO Tattoo Studio, the price estimate depends on the design, size, placement and artist. Our published price ranges give you a starting point (as of October 2026):
- Tiny and simple designs: €150–250, for example small symbols, short lettering and simple outlines.
- Small and detailed: €250–450, for example flowers, animals and small illustrations with detail.
These ranges are a non-binding guide to help you plan your budget. Individual projects can come in below or above them. A small tattoo doesn't automatically fall into the cheaper category. It comes down to how much work the detail takes.
We discuss the price for your specific design before we start tattooing. The consultation is free, and payment is currently in cash. You'll find all categories on our tattoo prices page.
5. How much time do I need, and what should I bring?

We can't give a fixed waiting time for walk-ins. What's possible on the day depends on appointments already running, which artists are free and your design. As well as any wait, allow time for the consultation, the design and the preparation.
If you have to catch a train or get to another fixed appointment straight afterwards, tell us when you arrive. Then we can decide together whether your time window fits the project.
Checklist for your visit
- Have your idea or references ready on your phone.
- Think about the placement and roughly how big you want it.
- Come well rested, eat something beforehand and drink water.
- Wear clothes that make the placement easy to reach.
- Skip alcohol and bring a valid photo ID.

6. Can two of us come in together, or can I choose a specific artist?
You're welcome to come in together with a shared tattoo idea. For two tattoos, though, we have to assess both designs and the time each one needs separately. A free slot for one person doesn't mean we can also fit in the second.
If you have a particular artist in mind, mention it when you get in touch. The work in our artist portfolios can help you choose. If that artist matters a lot to you, it's best to arrange an appointment in advance.

7. Walk-in or booked appointment: which suits my trip to Vienna?

A spontaneous studio visit can fit nicely into your stay if you have enough time and a fairly simple idea. Think about the days after, too: a fresh tattoo needs aftercare. Avoid swimming while it heals. If you're planning a beach or swimming holiday straight afterwards, talk to us about the timing first.
If you're travelling a long way, have a tight schedule or want a complex custom design, check with us beforehand. That way you can plan your tattoo around the rest of your trip.
